Highly Experienced Emotional Support
With over 18 years of experience as a counselor, I bring a unique blend of personal and professional expertise to The Caruso Wellness Center. As an active duty Army veteran and chaplain, I’ve served in multiple combat deployments, which has given me a deep understanding of the stressors that military life can place on individuals and relationships. Being an openly gay married man, I also bring a personal perspective to my practice, especially when working with LGBTQ clients. My approach is grounded in Adlerian psychology and Existential psychodynamic therapy, focusing on understanding each client’s unique circumstances with empathy and cultural sensitivity. I believe in creating a collaborative space where you feel heard and supported, rather than relying on sterile techniques or quick fixes.
Throughout my career as a marriage and family therapist in Illinois and as a relationship and life coach across the United States, I’ve specialized in areas that demand a deep level of understanding and compassion. From working with couples navigating infidelity or preparing for marriage to supporting individuals dealing with addiction, anxiety, or religious trauma, my goal is to help you achieve a more tranquil and balanced life. I’m committed to fostering a sense of belonging and holistic well-being, guiding you through your journey with encouragement and professional objectivity. My focus is on healing through relationships, connection, and hospitable listening, ensuring that each person I work with feels understood and supported in their path toward growth and fulfillment.
